Reawaken Your Soul

May 29, 2020 | Uncategorized

Dear Friends,

It has been a while since our last newsletter, so I thought this would be a good time to connect again.

This nightmare which we are living though,  has taken away from us what we love best – sharing our passion for Africa, her People and Wildlife, and caring for our guests who visit our wonderful country and continent. Fear not – there is light at the end of the tunnel…

South Africa has pulled together as a nation and many lives will hopefully be saved by the strict adherence to national lockdown announced by President Ramaphosa in March. We hope that these measures will assist us to welcome you in safety in the not too distant future.

Moving on – A big “thank you” to our guests who have rolled over their current trips to either later this year or into 2021. This gives us a bit more time to plan the extra “bells and whistles” that we are so well known for – ensuring that your newly-dated trip will be as wonderful, if not more so!

Do we hear wedding bells in the distance? Delayed Honeymoons in Paradise work for us too! Our Honeymooners will soon enjoy their honeymoon at a revised date to suit. We already have the Champagne ready in the cooler!

Looking back – 2019 was very exciting. We welcomed a wonderful family and friendly couples who experienced a fabulously exciting safari and tour of the Cape, with all the usual wonderful offerings. Some went on to enjoy the spectacular Victoria Falls in all their glory. One of our special guests – a Barmitzvah boy – enjoyed a “legacy trip” and collected a significant amount at his school and amongst his friends, which he then donated to one of the lodges he visited for their community fund. Well done, Logan!

Another highlight was one of the guests in one of our multi-generational family groups, who proved to be an excellent “blogger”.  We were delighted to receive daily reports on their trip – which left us, the HAS team, sitting at our desks in Johannesburg, drooling and calling for more! Thank you Richard.

Our start to the year 2020 was fabulous – but who would have known what was to come!

We welcomed a bridal couple from New York City and placed their 280 high-society wedding guests in luxury accommodation throughout the trip. It was a fairy tale event, with guests spending the pre-wedding weekend on safari in 10 luxury lodges at Welgevonden Game Reserve. Each lodge pulled out all the stops to make this a special and memorable event: www.welgevonden.org.

Guests luckily saw the “Big 5” in just 2 short days, and were wined and dined in true South African tradition.  Cape Town weather was perfect for  the few days after the safari, and guests enjoyed helicopter flights over the Peninsula, fine dining and great sunset views. The nuptials took place in Stellenbosch, which was picture perfect on the night. A great experience for every guest.

Into the future… Hospitality Africa Safaris will be offering our guests a more “immersive” experience – particularly after this very hard time of isolation. Our newly designed experiences blend the vibrant local culture, cooking, yoga retreats, spa treatments – with our famous safari experiences, where you get close up to animals in the wild and enjoy the remarkable moment-by-moment healing qualities of nature. A true re-wakening of body and soul…

Finally, as we say in South Africa – “ Môre is nog a dag” which from the Afrikaans, loosely translated means “tomorrow is another day”… Together with our Team of consultants, Colette, Nonny and Neo, we are standing by to  assist  in the  planning of your trip of a lifetime and to welcome you personally to the shores of Africa before you set you off on your individually planned unique experience.

P.S. NOW is the time to plan your trip – as in terms of the weakened ZAR exchange rates, if you are planning on travelling to South Africa, your buying power is the best it has been in years. So based on where you choose to travel you could now look at effective dollar, pound and euro prices quite a bit  lower than those of a year ago.

Reawaken Your Soul

Come to Africa! Our team is standing by to help you plan your magical trip.

We can’t wait to welcome you…

Kind Regards,

Diana, Martin & The Hospitality Afrika Safaris Team
